Local Entities Advancing and Driving Health Responses


Local Entities Advancing and Driving Health Responses (LEADR) is a three-year Project ( 2023 April – 2026 March  ) funded by USAID. The Project operates in 26 sites in the following districts; Mokhotlong, Butha-Buthe, Maseru Center of Excellence (COE) and Mohale’s Hoek Satellite Center of Excellence (SCOE). The project main goal is to support the Government of Lesotho to deliver high-quality integrated prevention, care and treatment services that will sustain the reduction in HIV, TB, and COVID-19 transmission, morbidity, and mortality in Lesotho through the implementation of a comprehensive, person-centered approach in Butha-Buthe and Mokhotlong districts of Lesotho.

Objectives:
– Increased coverage of high-quality evidence-informed comprehensive and people-centered HIV prevention, diagnosis, care and treatment services
– Increased coverage of high-quality evidence-informed comprehensive and people-centered TB prevention, diagnosis, care and treatment services

Implementation Activities:
Technical assistance to the MoH & DHMTs, HIV Prevention: Including PrEP & PEP provision, HIV testing services, incl HIV self-test (HIVST), Integrated PMTCT services, ART initiation & chronic care, Advanced HIV management, TB screening, prevention, TB contact tracing, diagnosis, treatment and care, Cervical cancer screening incl thermal ablation, Post-violence clinical care, Retention in care, Psychosocial support: Community ART groups (CAGs, Network Club Groups for AYP), CD4 and Viral load monitoring, Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) integration (Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Mental Health), Quality Improvement activities
